“We’re here.”

They arrived at the mountain view cliff, where they first celebrated Jimin’s birthday. Jimin got off the scooter first and waited for Minjeong to park their ride properly.

This was the first time for Minjeong to visit the place at that time. She usually visits the place at night and once, one morning when Yizhuo first introduced the place to her.

“It’s beautiful,” she heard her companion say as they looked over the amazing view. Minjeong might've had an idea that the place would have an amazingly beautiful view, especially during the sunset, but she never thought of visiting the place at that time, “Yeah.”

She sees the beautiful orange hues of the sun hovering over their town. It was indeed a breathtaking view.

Suddenly, a cold breeze went by. She saw Jimin rubbing her arms. Without thinking, she took off her flannel and put it over Jimin's shoulder. When she saw the surprised expression of the tall girl, she immediately explained, "You seemed cold."

"Wouldn't you get cold, too?"

Ah, she thought. Minjeong just remembered she's not a fan of the cold. She suddenly felt chills over her body because of the cold breeze, but she won’t back down now. She already gave her flannel, "I'm fine."

"Are you sure?" Jimin looked worried, "I mean, you get cold easily." Minjeong couldn’t help but smile. She doesn't remember mentioning her issues with the cold with Jimin lately and yet, she knows.

Jimin remembers.

Minjeong spoke softly, "it's okay. You need it more than I do." She could feel her ears reddening. Even though she was just saying normal words, she can’t help but feel shy and embarrassed by the words coming out of .

God, Minjeong. Stop this nonsense. She closes her eyes, remember, you need to be her friend. That's it.

She then tries to think of some topic before both of them go awkward. All day was awkward enough. "Why did you want to come to this place?" she asked.

Jimin cleared before answering, "I guess, after everything that had happened today, I figured we needed some fresh air."

She nodded in agreement. They do need this break.

She doesn't understand what was going on. It was like fate keeps on screwing over the supposed plans and decisions they made. However, she knows she can’t always blame fate as she knows she had a hand in a lot of their situation.

She shouldn't have let Jisoo play them over. She also should have read those coupons before they used them. They were supposed to be friends now, but for the last time, they pretended to be together to go through the day.

It's not like she didn't like it, she actually loved it.

She missed it.

But she knows they can't go back to that level again.

She internally sighs. No, Minjeong. Jimin brought you here to relax. Do that instead.

And she did that.

No matter how many times she looks at the view, it doesn’t fail to make her feel relaxed and at peace. The sun was starting to lose its colors, but the stars were slowly appearing. She can’t help but smile.

It was one of the best views she had seen in her life. She glanced over to her companion, and she saw Jimin admiring the view. Seeing the raven-haired girl relaxed and loving the view made Minjeong smile and enjoy the view even more.

"Would you believe me if I said I haven't seen this view before?" She spoke softly. She sees Jimin looking innocently confused, "really?"

So cute, she can’t help but smile, "Really."

"How come? Isn't this like your go-to place?"

Minjeong couldn't help but look up, the mixture of the blue and orange hues was really pretty, "At night, yes. But not during this time."

"Oh." The orange hues of the sun were starting to fade, but the view remained beautiful.

"This is nice," Minjeong said as she sighed.

"Hhmm?" Jimin glanced at her.

"Experiencing this. All of this, for the first time. Watching the sunset, here in this beautiful place," she looked at Jimin fondly, "with you."

Jimin stared at her.

Far too long.

"Jimin?" She tilted her head to the side, confused. She wasn't comfortable with how the other girl was staring, but Jimin’s expressions were too unreadable, it made Minjeong worried.

Jimin seemed to snap from her trance and walked away.

There's definitely something off.

Minjeong immediately reached out and grabbed the other girl’s arm, "Jimin, wait."

"Hey," Minjeong was now in front of her. Minjeong was dumbfounded.

Tears were flowing down.

Jimin was crying.

"Why...why are you crying?" It made Minjeong panic. It was happening again.

Why is she crying?

Is she crying because of me?

Did I do something wrong again?

Did I ed up again?

"Please don't cry." Minjeong’s voice quivered, "Did I do something wrong? I'm sorry." I'm sorry.

Did I...I hurt you again?

Jimin shook her head. I'm sorry.

"I'm sorry," Minjeong said weakly. She hurt her again.

"Don’t be," she hears Jimin speak, "it's not you." What?

Not me?

Then why?

Minjeong felt Jimin’s grip on her wrists tightened, "I'm just overwhelmed, I guess."

Minjeong doesn’t understand. She tried to remember their conversation a while ago and think how it could have been overwhelming. How? "Overwhelmed?"

"Yeah." She took note of everything that had happened the whole day. Ah, maybe because of it.

"You don't have to tell me." Minjeong softly whispers, "Just know I'm here."

She doesn’t know how to comfort the other girl. She can’t force her to talk, so she just did the thing she thinks that could give comfort to Jimin, she kissed her forehead. It was chaste, but Minjeong poured her heart out. The words of comfort she couldn’t say, she communicated through the kiss.

Minjeong slowly backs away. She realized that she might be crossing the line between friends and lovers, she sighed.

She can’t do this again.

She just can’t.

I’m just her friend.

I need to stay in my lane.

She turned her back against the other girl. Being too close to Jimin is too dangerous. She needs to learn to put some distance while at the same time, staying beside the raven-haired girl.

"It's getting late," She sighed before expressing, "We should head home so that you can rest."

Minjeong was so focused on her thoughts when she heard the other girl say, "I like you."

She froze.

What? She didn’t hear it properly. She wasn't sure if she heard it right.

Did Jimin say...that’s impossible, she thought, Jimin doesn’t like me. Or maybe she does, but not romantically. It’s impossible.

She rejected me before, though Jimin doesn’t know who I was.

Still.

She also said the kiss was nothing.

Jimin could never-

"I like you." Minjeong heard it clearly. Crap. Her brain short-circuited.

She couldn’t believe it.

Jimin likes her?

Huh?

She..she likes me?

"I know this is so random and out of nowhere, but I do." Wait...WAIT...This is too much. She heard the other girl continue, “And yeah, I know that we just broke up and I wanted us to be friends, but...”

But..?

"I like you, Minjeong. I like you a lot."

...A lot.

Wait, what????

Minjeong closed her eyes, she was getting a headache. It was too much.

Minjeong couldn’t wrap her head around it. She had convinced herself that Jimin would never like her romantically, and now? What? How?

Nothing adds up...

Wait...if what Jimin is saying is true...then I wasn’t delusional? All of it...everything…

She was overwhelmed by her own mind and feelings, she didn’t notice that Jimin was calling out for her, "Minjeong?"

All this time, I thought I never had a chance...but now...she likes me.

Jimin likes me?!?

It was then she slowly regained her hearing, “...if you want to reject me..."

"I'm sorry…" Wait...give me a bit more time to process this.

"Wha-what?"

Minjeong turned around, she was beginning to be lightheaded as she tried to wrap her head around what she just heard, "I'm sorry..."

She put both her hands on her head, she felt like her brain’s about to explode. She could feel her heart beating erratically, Minjeong doesn’t know how to handle all of the emotions she was feeling. “Wait...just...just...”

“I guess...you didn’t like me too, huh.” Minjeong froze again, what?

She looked at the other girl, confused. “What?”

“I-I shouldn’t have confessed,” Jimin starts to walk away from her.

Minjeong doesn’t understand why Jimin said that. Did she regret confessing? What? She immediately went to the other girl and grabbed her arm again, “what are you saying?”

“Let go.”

Huh? “What?”

Jimin won’t look at her, “Minjeong please...”

“You just confessed to me,” Minjeong said softly, “I can’t just-”

“Minjeong, you just rejected me!” Minjeong was shocked, Jimin was about to cry again, “Just let me be.”

Rejected? “Rej- what?”

Jimin tries to force her arm away from Minjeong, “please...let’s stop this.”

Minjeong was confused as ever, "stop, what?"

The other girl was able to yank her arm away, "this! This thing we have. I had enough!" She was full-on crying, "I thought that we could be friends. I thought that I could move past this...the feelings I have for you and have you back as my friend...but I can't."

The blonde-haired girl was speechless.

"Minjeong...I can’t." Jimin tried to wipe her tears away, "I should have known. No, I knew, and yet...I still pushed it through. With our history already, I knew we could never be friends." She turned around and was about to leave when

"Five years ago...five years ago I made a mistake." Minjeong clasped her hands as she gathered enough courage to spill everything. She sees Jimin stopped from leaving.

It was now or never.

"Five years ago, my best friend kissed me. You kissed me and...and...it made me feel things. It was so new...I didn't know how to handle it….so I made a mistake." She bit her lip before continuing, "rather than confronting the issue, I ran away…" she scoffs at herself. Finally admitting to it, "I ran away because I thought...I thought I could escape it and not think much about it.” She sighs as she remembers, “..it just so happens someone confessed to me. My immature self immediately accepted his confession, thinking that through it I would forget about the issue.”

"But it didn't," Minjeong’s voice wavered, "you were all I could think about." She sighed, "I tried to ignore you...but I couldn't. I couldn't."

Minjeong pushes herself to admit it, "That’s when I realized that maybe...maybe I have feelings for you. I was scared...as it was all so new to me...but I didn't realize how my actions had affected you."

"I made a mistake. I made the mistake of leaving you. Even though I didn't know what was going on, I shouldn’t...I shouldn’t have left you alone. You were hurting...." Minjeong tries to hold in her tears, "not only I lost you, my best friend, I also lost my first love...my other half."

"I beat myself every day because of that...then this arrangement happened." Minjeong was crying now but she tried to continue, "I thought through this I could make it up to you and only shower you with good things, but...even after many years...I still…"

Jimin slowly turned. She was also crying, looking at her. Minjeong wanted to go near and wipe her tears, but she knows she needs to get the words out of her chest first.

"I am still in love with you, Yoo Jimin." She smiled sadly, "I tried so hard...so hard to stop it. Cuz' I thought...I thought I would-"

Minjeong felt a pair of hands cupping her face and lips onto her.

Jimin kissed her.

She was shocked, at first, but was able to recover. It was chaste, but she could feel it. She could feel Jimin’s emotions through the kiss.

She laid one of her hands on the other girl’s waist and the other snake up to Jimin’s neck as she reciprocated with the same passion. She wanted to express all of her feelings too for the other girl through the kiss.

She slowly backed away as she gasped for air. She opened her eyes, only to see Jimin, looking at her fondly, "I am in love with you too, Minjeong-ah. So much."

Minjeong smiled.

She lovingly caresses Jimin’s face. The other girl leans over to her touch, "this is real, right?" Minjeong softly asked, "I'm not dreaming..."

Jimin cupped her hand and softly said, "You're not…Everything is real. You and I,"

"You're...you’re really mine?" Minjeong couldn’t believe it. Jimin gave her a sweet smile, "I am. I am yours." Minjeong reciprocated the smile.

She can't contain her happiness. She went closer, slowly, capturing the lips of the raven-haired girl, savoring another kiss.

Everything just felt right.

Everything was now in place.

Jimin has feelings for her, just like how she also has feelings for the other girl.

All the pain and suffering she went through these past few days, years even, all of it was worth it. All she could feel is love and happiness.

Felt like she came back home.

She came back home...to Jimin. I'm home.

--------

“You should go inside,” Minjeong softly whispered as she walked the other girl to the front door. They had arrived at Jimin’s house after their visit at the cliff. It was already dinner time.

“I will,” Jimin expressed, “but first.”

She went near the blonde-haired girl and gave her a tight hug. Minjeong smiled at the gesture and reciprocated the hug.

“Your mom will be looking for you if you won’t get inside already,” Minjeong whispered in Jimin's ear. She hears the other girl sigh, “I know.”

“Then?”

“Give me one more minute.” Minjeong can’t help but smile at this, “Okay.”

They stayed like that for a while, enjoying the comfort of each other’s embrace. “Jimin,”

“I still can’t believe it,” Minjeong barely caught what Jimin had whispered. She backed away for a bit to look at the other girl properly, “hmm?”

Jimin stared at her softly, “I still can’t believe...this.” She felt the tall girl’s hand on her cheek, caressing her, “Us.”

“You’re not the only one.”

“So,” Jimin puts her arms around the blonde girl’s neck and pecks her lips, “does this mean we’re official?” Minjeong cutely nodded as she looked at Jimin’s lips, tempted to kiss the tall girl again.

Jimin smiles. She stared at Minjeong fondly before sweetly asking, “Kim Minjeong, will you be my girlfriend? Official this time.”

“You already know my answer,” Minjeong smiled before kissing the other girl. Jimin smiled at this and reciprocated.

Before they might get caught by Jimin’s family members, Minjeong pulled away. “You should go in now or else I might now stop kissing you,”

Jimin chuckled at this, “that’s not a bad idea though.” Minjeong could only shake her head, “yeah well, I prefer to maintain my good image and amazing relationship with your family.” She pecks Jimin’s lips one last time before backing away from her. “I’ll be going now.”

She starts to walk back to her scooter when she hears Jimin shout, “be careful on your way home!”

“I will.”

As Minjeong was about to leave, she looked back at the porch, only to see Jimin, still there looking at her. She smiled and waved at her, now, girlfriend before driving off to her house.

Jimin, on the other hand, still can’t stop looking at Minjeong. Once she didn't see the other girl’s silhouette, she decided to go inside the house. She was still high from everything that had happened and couldn't contain her happiness. She visited the kitchen and saw her eldest sister and her mother preparing dinner. She both gave them kisses on the cheeks as she skips around to her room.

She decided to take a quick bath before going to dinner.

“You seemed happy,” Jimin immediately sees her older sister, Jisoo, standing at her door. “Yeah, well. It was a good day.”

Jisoo nods, “So it is safe to conclude that you enjoyed your date with Minjeong.” The younger Yoo gave her a knowing look, especially as she suddenly remembered all the hassle things both she and Minjeong had gone through in the movie theatre.

Jisoo raised both her hands in defeat, “I rest my case.” She walked past through Jimin and to eat dinner when

“Thank you.”

Jisoo furrowed her brows as she looked at her little sister. She sees Jimin not looking at her directly, “Even though you made us look like fools at the movie theatre, everything still ended well.” Jimin glanced at her sister and smiled, “So, thank you.”

Jisoo smiled. She walked near the youngest and patted her head, “All for you, sis. All for you.”

As the youngest Yoo entered her room, Jisoo was left in the hallway. Her smile from a while ago then turned to a frown, “Minjeong, please keep Jimin happy.”

---------

An alarm goes off as the blonde-haired girl stirs up from her slumber.

She reached out to get her phone and turned it off. It’s been days since she had a really good sleep.

She stretched her body as checked the time, and she didn’t oversleep. Nice.

Who knew she only needed Yoo Jimin to be her official girlfriend to get a good sleep.

Her phone suddenly rang, Jimin was calling her. “Good morning,”

“Good morning to you too, did I wake you?”

“Nope,” she moved to her side, “I just woke up on my own.” She hears the other girl hum in response. “Do you have plans today?”

“Plans?” Minjeong tries to rack her brain if she did have any plans, “I don’t think so...why?”

“Well...”

“Hhmm?”

“I kind of want to...spend some time...with you...today,” Minjeong could barely hear Jimin’s voice as it was gettin

There's been a lot of hindrances since the moment they met. They do have little happy moments buy it only lasts for a while and it doesn't justify the amount of pain that they have to go through in exchange for it. Kinda makes you think that maybe they are not really meant for each other?

Winrina learning about Ryujin's intervention in past could have been the perfect of the story. Ryujin's acceptance and Winrina finally being together with no strings attached could have been the perfect ending, but it seems like they're facing yet another dilemma and I don't think I can take it anymore 😅

It's been fun reading it but this is it for me. Had enough of winrina angst 😅 God they're everywhere. Wish you all the best author! Hope your hand heal soon.
